In our testing, we found that Aerocool used a lot of plastic to build the case, and metallic parts are also very thin. So there’s a greater chance for wear and tear.

This case comes in white and black colors. It is made of SPCC and 3mm Tempered Glass materials, along with plastic parts. The cooling department is quite strong in this case. Design

The XPG Invader X is a mid-tower case. It has a dimension of 448x245x475mm (HxWxD). It is made of SPCC, Tempered Glass, and plastic materials. The weight of this case is 8.95 kg. Let’s start taking a closer look from Insider and Outside views being our major categories.

What Does The Outside View Look Like?

We can see that this case is based on the panoramic view concept. There is a clear see-through glass on the front which is fixed and a 3mm clear tempered glass on the side. Together these two provide a panoramic view of the complete build inside this case. I guess, Lian Li’s design is still kicking in well.

What Is The Front Panel About?

Looking at the front of the Invader X, there is not much tooling work since the 3mm tempered glass is fixed. It can’t be removed so don’t try that. The other salient design is the front IO port which is located at the base of this case. The glass panel is a bezel-less design.

The power button has a nice click and tack to it without wobbling.

A Look at the Rear

I am showing the rear side of Invader X. The top section has a cutout for the motherboard’s rear IO panel. On its right is a mounting location for a 120mm and 140mm fan. There is one 120mm fan pre-installed. This is a rail mount to my liking. You can adjust the height of the fans conveniently.

The central section has PCIe slot covers which are not reusable. These are 7 in number. This is a single-piece bracket that can be removed easily by removing a few screws. At the bottom, we have a mount for ATX PSU. There is a PSU cover that needs to be removed and installed on the PSU. PSU is then slided in from the rear of the case.

XPG has used all captive thumb screws.

I am showing the horizontal GPU bracket and the PSU cover bracket removed from the case.

I have installed a vertical GPU bracket that has 4x PCIe slots on the rear. I appreciate how easy it is to change these brackets.

A Look At The Top

Looking at the top there is a solid metal cover that is vented in a similar design pattern which are on the CORSAIR 4000 series PC Case series. This cover is removable. It is secured using two captive thumb screws on the rear. Unscrew them and pull the cover.

This top cover has a full-length magnetic dust filter. The user can install up to 3 120mm fans or 2x 140mm fans on the top. There is a rail mount system. XPG has done a fine job in the design department.

Look at the displacement from the side of the case towards the rail mount. This rail mount is located more towards the side panel. This offset of 44mm gives more area to work with when installing top top-mounted cooler.

What Does The Bottom Look Like?

I am showing a bottom view of this case in the above picture. There is a large-sized non-magnetic dust filter that can be removed by pulling it from the side. There are 4x triangular-shaped anti-vibration rubber pads on the feet.

I have removed the dust filter and now showing the base of the PC case. The PSU bay has a vented area. There is also a vented area towards the front side where we can a pre-installed fan from inside.

Take A Look At The Side Panel And Inside Details

There is a 3mm tempered glass on the side panel. It is bezel-less in design so that users can take a glimpse of what is inside the case. It is somewhat tinted.

The above picture shows a complete overview of the case. This is our working space hence it needs more attention from the design aspect.

The PSU shroud has a totally vented portion. Taking a closer you can and you can identify mounting holes for 120mm fans. The user can optionally install 2x 120mm fans over it. There are three cutouts towards the motherboard tray for cable routing. There is a large size cutout towards the front that is for the graphics card cable routing.

Now, I am showing a close-up of the motherboard tray. There is a large size cutout for easy installation of the CPU cooler. It is also called CPU cutout. There are three cutouts on the top for cable routing, one large size and the other mid-size cutout on the right for further cable routing and management. There are two more cutouts for mATX-size motherboards. Speaking of motherboards, this case has support for:

• Mini-ITX
• mATX
• Full ATX

This PC Case supports back-plug motherboards. These motherboards have not yet entered into main stream market segments but it is good to see XPG is providing for the future upgrade needs. The cutouts are designed so that they align with the reversed power connectors on these motherboards. All 9x standoffs are pre-installed. There is no rubber grommet on the cutouts. This tray has a size of 320mm by 240mm (HxL). There is a displacement of 22m from the top of the case to the top of the motherboard.

XPG has installed 4x digital RGB 120mm fans with reversed blades on the side and at the base. You can install up to 3x 120mm fans on the side and 1x 120mm or 140mm fans on the base. Similarly, you can install up to a 360mm radiator on the side. These fans are taking the air in.

There is a cylindrical shaped magnetic bar that acts as a support for the horizontally installed heavy graphics card. The magnetic portion is attached to the PSU shroud and the height of the screw column can be adjusted as per the requirement. This is quite a convenient solution.

There is a 120mm digital RGB fan on the rear, exhausting the air out of the case. We can see 7x non-usable PCIe slot covers. It seems like a non-practical design but XPG has wisely included 3x PCIe slot covers so that should cover up this limitation. Still, I would have preferred a removable and reusable 7x PCIe slot covers.

Looking At The Backside Of The Case

There is a steel-made backside panel. It has a vented portion towards the front of the case and we can see 3x 120mm fans pre-installed there.

There is a magnetic dust filter covering the vented area on the side panel.

Now, we are taking a look at the inside of the case from its backside. The prominent item here is a pre-installed bracket. This bracket can either hold up to 3x 3.5” drives or 2.5” drives. This is the only storage area in this case. XPG has wisely used this design to provide maximum room for other build aspects yet covers a decent amount of storage.

I have removed the storage bracket and now I am showing a clear-up view of the case. There is an ample area for cable management and it is nice to see that XPG has pre-routed the front panel and fans cables and cable managed them using 5x Velcro strips. But I have one observation.

The USB 3.2 connector, HD Audio, and front panel connectors were found on the top of this cable management whereas these should be cable managed towards the bottom of the case except the USB 3.2 which needs to be in the middle of this pre-managed cables stack. There are 13 cable tie points. The fans on the left side are installed on a rail mount.

We can spot a PSU bay on the bottom right. You can easily use up to 240mm length PSU in this case. Using a standard 160mm PSU would give you ample space to hide the cables inside the PSU bay.

Test Build And Experience

We have used the following configuration for testing of this case:

• Intel i7-13700K

• XPG Levante X 360
• Kingston Fury Renegade RGB 32GB DDR5 7200MHz Kit
• ASRock Radeon RX 7600 Phantom Gaming OC 8G
• Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus 2TB NVMe [OS]

I installed the RAM outside of the case as well as the mounting hardware for the cooler. But you can install these inside the case as well. There is no obstruction. I swapped the horizontal GPU bracket with the vertical GPU bracket before installing the motherboard. I removed two non-reusable PCIe covers from the vertical GPU bracket, and then the motherboard was installed.

The liquid cooler was installed next. I have used XPG Levante X 360 AIO in this build. There is a 44mm displacement from the cooler to the motherboard tray. I would suggest installing the radiator without fans first. Before installing the fans, route their cables as after installing the fans, you will have a restricted approach toward the top of the motherboard.

I am showing the top of the motherboard with the cables connected to the headers on the motherboard. It was a challenging step since I installed the fans on the radiator outside of the case.

There was no issue installing the graphics card vertically. The riser cable was easily attached to the PCIe slot of the motherboard.

I am showing the cable management done on the backside of the case. The storage bracket provides a natural cover to hide the cables if not using storage devices.

Thermal Testing

We have tested the Intel i7 13700k on auto and stock settings. The power limits were removed; hence, we are looking at a 250W power draw by the CPU under CINEBENCH R23.2 CPU Multi load. I have used Noctua NT-H1 thermal paste on the CPU. The fans and the pump were set to run at 100% PWM cycle.

The XPG fans, in this case, were set to run at full speed as well. The RGB lighting was covered using a 3-pin, 5B digital RGB headers of the motherboard. The graphics card was operating at its stock settings. XPM was loaded from the UEFI BIOS.

The rest of the settings were on Auto and Stock in the UEFI/BIOS. The system was put on idle for a minimum of 5 minutes. The ambient temperature was 26°C. Let’s take a look at the results.

This is an impressive performance showing good airflow inside the Invader X PC Case from XPG.

Acoustic

The overall noise level was at 55 dBA on ambient 33 dBA, which is a bit on the high side, but keep in mind that 8x fans were operating at full speed.

Should You Buy It?

Buy It If

Need a panoramic view case: The XPG Invader X has a panoramic view design coming from the bezel-less front and side tempered glass panels. Keep in mind that the market is filled with such designs now; hence, competition is tough.

A high-spec PC Case is required: Filled with excellent features like a 180mm 90ᵒ riser cable, up to 2x 360mm radiators, 10 fans, 3x 2.5”/3.5” drives and bundled GPU support bracket, the chassis is a must-have for those who want top-notch specs. This case also supports back-plug motherboards making it a future-ready PC Case.

Don’t Buy It If

Already own a nice mid-tower case: If you already have a nice features mid-tower PC Case, then I would not suggest spending USD 169.90 on this case.

Budget User stays away: If you are on a tight budget, then this case is not for you. Period.

Final Thoughts

The XPG Invader X is a feature-rich mid-tower case designed for high-end PC builds, offering excellent dust filtration, strong cooling capabilities with support for up to 360mm radiators, and sufficient space for large graphics cards (400mm without side fans, 270mm with a side radiator).

It has a moderate storage capacity with three drive slots, accommodates full ATX motherboards and PSUs up to 240mm, and provides ample room for cable management with a standard 160mm PSU. It supports CPU coolers up to 175mm in height, includes two GPU support brackets for vertical and horizontal mounting, and comes with a riser cable, justifying its higher price. On top of all this, the XPG Invader X supports back-plug motherboards.

With five preinstalled fans (four with reversed blades for intake and one exhaust), a flexible rail system for fan mounts, a well-equipped front IO panel, and an option to add two additional fans above the PSU shroud, it offers great customization.

However, top-mounted AIO coolers may impede cable connections due to the case’s height. XPG offers a 2-year warranty and overall, the Invader X comes highly recommended for its quality and design.

The unit is shipped inside a standard brown color cardboard box. XPG has highlighted key features in a modular style over here like storage capabilities, removable dust filters, Versatile IO ports, etc.

The case comes tucked between two white-colored Styrofoam pads. One of the pads was broken. The transparent sheet was also torn.

Design

Let’s start with the statement from XPG about this case. “XPG VALOR MESH is a compact, highly compatible case with an easy access steel front panel and a 3mm tempered-glass side panel. It comes with four pre-installed 120mm fans and supports up to six fans total, for excellent airflow and cooling. The magnetic front panel makes it easy to enter and clean the system from all sides”.

The XPG VALOR MESH is a compact mid-tower chassis that comes in two colors; white and black. It has a dimension of 460x210x371mm. It is made of SPCC steel and tempered glass. The gross weight of the package is 5.85Kg so you can tell how compact and lightweight this case is.

Let’s start taking a closer look, starting with the front panel.

XPG has opted for a perforated steel-made front panel, which makes sense because the very name of Mesh needs to be served accordingly. This perforation would serve the purpose, and steel fabrication would provide rigidity with solid build quality. What is more stunning is the magnetic handling of this front panel. Two strong magnets are pasted at the base of this panel in the plastic body. There is also a thumb screw at the bottom of the case that is securing this panel. This is to secure the panel during shipping. Once on the table, you may skip this screw and rely on the magnetic handling. There is an XPG branding in silver color at the base of this panel.

This panel has an angular curve towards the left and right sides, providing form and function at the same time in this case.

The above picture shows the front panel removed. We have placed the thumb screw in the middle just to show that it is part of this panel. The main body is made of plastic, whereas the perforation is made of steel. Look towards the base. One magnet is there, whereas the other was left on the case on the steel side due to its sheer magnetic power.

Now that we have removed the front panel, we are showing a fine-grade dust filter. This dust filter is also magnetic, and we appreciate the XPG design team for this user-friendly design at this price point. Look towards the bottom of the case towards the right side. The circular magnet is there. It came off the plastic frame of the front panel.

The above picture shows a fine-grade dust filter from its backside. There are 6x magnets that secure this filter on the main housing.

Now that we have removed the front panel and dust filter, we can see that there are three 120mm pre-installed fans up front. These fans have 3-pin connectors and they spin between 1500 to 1600 RPM speed. There is a rail mount design that is a permanent feature of this case. The user can also install 140mm fans here. In terms of fans and radiators, the following provision is possible on the front:

• Up to 3x 120mm fans
• Up to 2x 140mm fans
• Up to 1x 360mm radiator
• Up to 1x 280mm radiator

The XPG Valor Mesh is 210mm wide. Looking at the top, we can spot a dust filter. It is magnetic as well. There is an IO port there as well on the far end.

The dust filter is magnetic, which is a wise design. The magnetic strips run down on all four borders of the filter. The filter is perforated.

Removing the top dust filter, we can spot the perforated steel frame over the top. There are cut-to-size rail mounts there for 120mm and 140mm fans. In terms of fans and radiators, the following provision is possible on the top:

• Up to 2x 120mm fans
• Up to 2x 140mm fans
• Up to 1x 240mm radiator

There are:

• 1x Combined Audio Port
• 1x Reset Button
• 1x Power Button

The power button has a nice click to it and does not wobble. Seems like XPG was paying attention.

We have a standard layout on the rear. There is a cutout for the IO shield of the motherboard. On its right, there is a vented area for the 120mm fan mount. One 120mm fan is preinstalled. We can adjust the height of the rear fan since there is a rail mount. These are minute details that XPG has paid attention to, and I appreciate their design team for that. There are 7x PCIe slots in the center with reusable slot covers. These slots are implemented with raised ends outside of the chassis. There is a standard ATX PSU mount on the bottom.

There is a PCIe bracket/cover secured using a screw. You would need to remove the bracket to install/remove the PCIe devices.

Looking at the bottom or underside of the XPG Valor Mesh, we can see a non-magnetic dust filter under the PSU bay. I wish they had made this a magnetic filter as well! There are cutouts on which the HDD cage can be installed. The HDD cage does not come pre-installed. Looking at the rightmost side towards the front, we can spot a thumb screw. This screw secures the front panel with the main frame. We have rounded case feet that give enough lift to the case for effective ventilation from the surface on which the case will be placed.

The PSU bay has a perforated area for air intake. Given that the bay has a perforation on the bottom as well as on the top, one can install PSU in either direction, though I would still go with the fan side down.

The XPG VALOR MESH comes with a 3mm thick tempered glass panel. Since this case is a dual-chamber design, the glass panel covers the main chamber only, and it flushes with the main frame fully. It slides in between the frame and does not fall off even if we remove two thumb screws. It is light-tinted and shows the build though you would need some sort of lighting inside the build for full illumination. The panel is secured using two thumb screws on the rear.

We have shown the inner side of the glass panel. There are two rubber pads on the top and bottom to avoid scratching. This is smart thinking because this panel slides in and out between the main frame and rests on the frame. The front side has two latches that lock onto the main frame.

Now, we are looking inside the XPG Valor Mesh. This case has a basic and standard tooling. We have mentioned that this is a compact, mid-tower. This picture is exactly an illustration of our statement. But don’t underestimate it. We have assembled a test build using upper mid-range hardware just to show the amazing capacity of this PC case to handle anything within its realm. Let’s start exploring the main area of interest.

We are looking at the motherboard tray. We have measured the area to be 314x283mm (HxL). This does not include the raised or protruded portions. The motherboard tray does not have any flex in it and is quite rigid. XPG has installed 6x standoffs from the factory. Each mounting hole is labeled, and the index is embossed on the tray as well. I don’t know why they did not install all 9x standoffs. Anyhow, it is still better than those PC Cases that came with 4x pre-installed standoffs or none and users are required to install these on their own. In Valor’s case, a user would need to install 3x standoffs for a regular ATX-size motherboard. Speaking of motherboard sizes, this case has support for:

• Mini-ITX
• Micro-ATX
• ATX

XPG has provided a socket wrench, so you don’t need to worry about how to install those standoffs. There are two cutouts on the top for EPS connectors and other cables for the motherboard’s top headers. There are main cutouts on the right of the tray for the 24-pin ATX, PEG, and other cables. None of these cutouts have a rubber grommet. There is a single large-size cutout on the tray to install the CPU cooler. This case can house a cooler having a height of up to 166mm. There is a displacement of 40mm approximately from the top of the case to the top of the motherboard which makes the installation of a 240mm up top almost difficult. Also, there is a displacement of approximately 14mm for the RAM height clearance concerning the radiator. Keep these in mind.

There are 3x 120mm fans pre-installed on the front to provide airflow to the front side of the case. It is nice to see a manufacturer going at length in this price range in the provision of rich features. These are XPG VENTRO 120mm fans.

There is a cutout on the front side of the PSU shroud. The length of this gap is approximately 59 to 60mm. This would mean one can easily install a regular or standard AIO over here because a regular or a standard AIO has a 27mm thick radiator with 25mm thick fans making a 54mm thickness of the complete unit, including the heads of the screws. Push-pull is only possible with a 240mm AIO. However, keep in mind that going push-pull would further limit the already limited graphics card’s length in this case. Speaking of which, this card provides a 305mm length for the graphics card with pre-installed fans, and it is 335mm after removing these fans or a central fan. Also, keep in mind that a 360mm or a 280mm AIO would affect the placement of the HDD cage and, consequently, the PSU length and its cables. We will cover that shortly.

There is another 120mm fan on the rear. A user can install a 120mm size radiator here as well. We can use 7x PCIe slots with vented covers. These are reusable slot covers which is a rare feature in this price range. These covers sit flush with the chassis frame.

The above picture shows the top area from the inside of the case.

The above picture shows the PSU shroud, which is a part of the main frame. That is, it is fixed. It has perforation for effective ventilation. Looking closely, it has mounting holes that conform to 120mm fan size. However, there is no mention of this area housing any fans in the specifications or features of the brand. There are two cutouts near the motherboard tray through which the cables can be passed for bottom headers connectivity on the motherboard. You can see a protruding area from the main frame. This is where the glass panel is rested.

Let’s take a look at the other side of the chassis.

The back panel is made of steel, and it is quite a fingerprint magnet, so handle it with care.

The above picture shows the default or factory layout of the chase. The front panel cables are tucked on the side. The fan cables are daisy-chained and routed. The bottom chamber is empty.

We have tried to move the cables out of the way to provide maximum exposure to the backside of this case. There are 9x cable tied points, which are plenty given the compact design of this case. There are two 2.5” drive caddies behind the motherboard tray. There is a recessed area towards the front side, which one can use to hide the cables. The angular cutouts on the side provide cable tie points on the border of the recessed area.

Now, we are showing a bottom chamber. There is a PSU bay towards the right side with 4x anti-vibration rubber feet. There is a provision to slide in the HDD cage towards the left side. The HDD cage can be adjusted in two locations, which is a wise move and provides flexibility as per the build’s requirement. The user can skip it altogether if storage requirements can be met from 2.5” and M.2 drives.

The above picture shows critical information. The total available area in the bottom chamber with fans is 311mm for the PSU and cables. This area becomes 278mm for the PSU and its cables if we install a 360mm or a 280mm AIO on the front without an HDD cage. If the HDD tray is installed with the fans and no AIO, then we have a 180mm area available for the PSU and cables. If move the HDD cage towards the PSU bay then the total area available for the PSU and its cables is 160mm.

The above picture shows the HDD cage. It is not pre-installed, and it is not a tool-less design. I can give it a pass, given a low price tag. The user can install a 2x 3.5” or 2x 2.5” drive or a combination of these in this cage.

Installing an HDD cage in this location will give the PSU a clearance of 160mm.

Please note that there is a 1-2mm difference between our measurement and XPG-stated measurements, which, in my opinion, is within the margin of error.

Test Build and Experience

We have used the following configuration for testing of this case:

The cooler and RAM were installed outside of the case since this has become our habit. However, we checked that one can install a cooler after installing the motherboard in this case first without running into any issues, particularly the hindrance to the backplate of the cooler. The cable of the rear fan was carefully moved out of the way so that the motherboard could be placed inside the case. We had to install the 3x standoffs as well. So far, so good.

We then installed the PSU. Since it is a modular PSU, we only had to deal with three cables which are EPS, PEG, and an ATX cable. We did not face any issues with the cable routing. Before installing the graphics card, the HD audio and front panel connectors were routed and installed. The graphics card was installed. Afterward, all necessary cables were connected and routed. We did minimal cable management, and it still came out clean. However, if you don’t have a modular PSU and you are going to use an HDD cage, you would need to be creative with this case for cable management, particularly handling unwanted cables.

Testing

We have locked P-Cores at 4.8GHz and E-Cores at 3.8GHz using 1.220V using Intel XTU. We have used Noctua NT-H1 thermal paste. We have used AIDA64 FPU and GPU Load tests at the same time. The 4x XPG pre-installed fans were running at full speed. The Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM fans on the NH-U12A were running at full speed. The graphics card was operating at its stock settings. XPM was loaded from the UEFI BIOS. The rest of the settings were on Auto and Stock in the UEFI/BIOS. The system was put on idle for a minimum of 5 minutes. The ambient temperature was between 27°C and 28°C. Let’s take a look at the results.

We have a good all-round performance in the thermals department from XPG Valor Mesh.

Acoustic

The overall noise level was at 52~53 dBA on ambient 33 dBA, which is fine.

Conclusion

The XPG Valor Mesh is a compact mid-tower PC Case that comes in black and white editions. This case has a dimension of 460x210x371mm (LxWxH). Despite being a compact mid-tower, XPG has made the depth of this case 210mm, which is a smart move. This case is made of SPCC steel, plastic, and glass materials. Its gross weight is approximately 5.85 kg or so. This case has support for motherboards of the following sizes:

• Mini-ITX
• Micro-ATX
• ATX

However, it comes with only 6x pre-installed standoffs. You would need to install 3x standoffs if going for an ATX-size motherboard for which there is a socket wrench provided in the accessory container. The case has a 3mm thick tempered glass with a light tint. It has a sliding mechanism and does not fall when two thumb screws are removed.

The front panel is perforated and has a magnetic attachment. There is a magnetic dust filter as well on the front, and a third eye-catcher on the front is 3x 120mm pre-installed fans. There is a 4th 120mm fan on the rear, making a count of 4x 120mm fans that come pre-installed. The top also has a magnetic dust filter and a rail mount system for fans. The IO panel is located on top at the far end. XPG has taken full advantage of the 210mm width.

There is a perforated PSU shroud as well, and the base of the PSU is perforated. There is a non-magnetic dust filter under the PSU bay as well. There is a gap towards the front on the PSU shroud that measures roughly 59mm and is sufficient for a standard AIO cooler up front. Having a perforation all around makes this case an excellent candidate for sufficient airflow, hence the name MESH.

There is nothing fancy shrill like RGB lighting in this case, which is understandable and, in my opinion, a wise design because XPG has focused on function. The front IO provides 2x USB 3.2 Gen1 connectivity in addition to combined audio and HD audio ports. The reset and power buttons have a nice click to them without any wobbling. The tooling is standard, and the build quality is fine. We have no complaints in this regard.

Enough with the chit-chat. How about the build experience? Well, for me, it was a walk in the park. It was a buttery smooth experience. I was a bit out of touch due to two surgeries and almost being out of this work for a year, and this build is bringing me back on track again. Despite being a compact mid-tower, my large-sized hands have handled it pretty easily, and I have no complaints about it. Of course, one’s mileage would vary. I have used an air cooler to test this case, and I have also used a modular PSU.

If you are working with a non-modular PSU and HDD cage at the same time, then you would need to be creative for cable management. Other than that, there is nothing difficult to build in this case. The thermal performance is also good. Our core i7 was doing 76°C under heavy workload, and GeForce RTX 3070 was doing 74°C. Noise output was also good despite having a total of 6x fans in the build.

The XPG Valor Mesh, coming at USD 49.90, is aimed at entry-level gamers and PC users, but this is not all. This case is so well built, and the internals are so well laid out that this case is also applicable to system integrators, LAN shows, home media use, Gaming Lounge, etc. XPG has provided an almost complete feature set at this price point that is not easy to match. The only thing that is lacking is a 2-year warranty. However, this is a PC case, not a cooler or an SSD, and I should be complaining about the warranty.

Although the Cooler Master NR200P SFF has no included fans, it has a glass and mesh panel. With simple installation, using the glass panel would be ideal if you want better aesthetics while showing off your RGB. However, using the mesh panel would be best if you want better cooling due to higher PC temperatures.

However, it is worth considering that the Cooler Master NR200P SFF does not look visually stunning. No matter what you do, the case will always look bland unless you do some intense modifications this as soldering the case itself or painting it. That’s up to you. If you can’t do all of that, using the glass panel with beautiful components will be your best bet.

Surprisingly, the NR200P SFF supports graphics cards up to 336mm or 13.2 inches long. For reference, the Founder’s Edition RTX 3090 is 313mm or 12.3 inches long. Along with the included riser 4.0 cable, you can place the 3090 on a vertical mount as intended.

Firstly, there are two different modes for the P600S itself. These are silent and performance modes. As the name suggests, the silent mode prioritizes lower noise from the chassis. This is also the mode that the P600S comes with. On the other hand, the performance mode improves airflow, increasing performance by reducing thermal throttling. To use the performance mode, all you need to do is take off the front magnetic cover. Behind the magnetic cover, you’ll find a fabric mesh. This mesh increases airflow excessively.

Secondly, this is one of the few cases at this price range supporting a 420mm radiator. The P600S also comes included with three 140mm fans. These are some ultra-silent PC case fans.

Thirdly, the P600S case is highly customizable. You can add E-ATX motherboards up to a length of 280mm. Almost all parts are removable and interchangeable, making the P600S a flexible chassis. The chassis has dampening material on the right to keep it silent, making it quiet! Pure base 500DX is an amazing silent PC case. However, this also compresses the amount of free space the chassis has.

Firstly, we did not select the 100R due to its case design. The 100R looks more like one of those Dell OptiPlex cases rather than any fancy cases by today’s standards. However, with the mesh this case has, you can rest assured that it will stay silent. Moreover, the 100R only comes with two front USB ports, which is not helpful for office-related environments.

It is important to note that the 100R comes with two 120mm fans. This is an amazing deal due to its already low price. The case is big enough to fit in an ATX motherboard, but fitting in bigger graphics cards might be problematic. Triple fan cards can fit after some modifications are made inside the case itself.

Concluding, the 100R is an exceptional case for its price. It would have found its place in this list if its design had not been so underwhelmed.

The Fractal Design Define 7 is one of the best cases in 2022. Although expensive, its design and features make up for that cost. This would have been on the list if not for the extra features that the Cooler Master SL600M comes with. There are many features that the Define 7 comes with.

Firstly, the Define 7 comes with a surplus of 5 front USB ports. This is plenty for any enthusiast. Secondly, even though the chassis is a bit compact, there is lots of space inside. The Define 7 also comes with a glass and a normal panel. Also, the paint finishing of the Define 7 outclasses many enthusiast-grade cases. Even the SL600M does not have a finishing of this level.

It is also important to note that the Define 7 comes in several colors. Therefore, you can peacefully choose which color to go with according to your build requirements. There is high-quality sound dampening material on both sides of the case too. Also, the top panel can easily be swapped from solid metal to a filtered ventilation panel.

All-in-all, the Fractal Design Define 7 is one of our favorite cases and could have ended up on the list. It has enough potential to be one of the Best High-End Silent PC Cases out there. Except for the Small Form Factor case that we chose, all of the others support at least an ATX motherboard. A few even support E-ATX motherboards if you decide to go that route. Small Form Factor cases are designed while keeping small amounts of space in mind. Therefore, it isn’t surprising.

Before buying a case, you should know how much space you have on your table and in your room. This will allow you to decide whether to use a smaller motherboard or a regular ATX-sized motherboard. Therefore, motherboard compatibility is extremely important when buying a case.

Case Dimensions

Next up, we have the dimensions of the case. The bigger the case, the more chances its thermal performance will improve. Bigger cases also tend to be quieter due to adding more noise cancellation material.

Despite their size difference, the Core P5 resembles Core P1 a lot in design and features. Like Core P1, the Core P5 also has three layout options, it can either be placed horizontally or vertically on a desk or floor, or you can take it up a notch and mount it on the wall as a decoration. The side of Core P5 is covered with a tempered glass panel to give a great view of the fabulous interior with the added RGB lighting and water cooling. Moreover, you can remove the tempered glass panel to make it an open-air case. The airflow, in this case, is great, which helps a lot in maintaining its thermals.

Thermaltake Core P5 supports an ATX, a Micro ATX, or a mini-ITX motherboard, which is standard for a mid-tower PC case. Although the Core P series design is quite similar to each other, Thermaltake has kept the design because it works. Like other Core P series, the Core P5 provides best airflow and thermals. The Thermaltake Core P5, although a great case, has its downsides. The front I/O panel lacks a USB Type-C, which is becoming somewhat necessary as more and more devices utilize USB Type-C ports. MSI is a brand you must already be familiar with. But you might not know it for producing PC cases, but it does. Their PC cases consist of the MPG series and the MAG series. Today, we will explore a case found in the MAG series, the MSI MAG Forge 100R.

Right off the bat, we get an angular front panel that looks like two mini ITX cases have been combined to form one mid-tower case. This angular panel has parts of it that are covered by plain plastic, while a mesh panel covers the fan intakes. This allows for airflow regulation for the fans mounted underneath. Speaking of the fans, the MAG Forge 100R arrives with two of the 120mm A-RGB fans, where one is placed on the top and the other placed at the bottom, leaving the middle section empty. 

For the fan and radiator support, you can have three 120mm or two 140mm fans or a single 240mm radiator on the front panel. However, the fan placed on the second slot will be less effective as the plastic cover hinders its airflow intake because of the angular design. Due to its compact size, you can not install a 360mm radiator on the front panel. For the top portion, you can either mount two 120mm or 140mm fans or a single 240mm radiator. 

Inside the case, we get up to ATX support for the motherboard. You get a large number of cutouts placed on the top, right side, bottom, and motherboard for easy cable routing. You get a hard drive cage underneath the PSU shroud that can mount up to 2 HDDs or 3 SSDs. For SDDs, you get two additional mounts to either install them at the backside of the motherboard tray or at the front. You also get a lot of room for the power supply unit to install even larger ones. Furthermore, there is a good-quality dust filter underneath your power supply unit in this economic case as well. 

The top section includes the I/O ports, you get an LED button to cycle your RGB lights, 2x USB 3.2 Type-A ports, and two separate jacks for audio and headphones.

What We Liked

The pricing of the MSI MAG Forge 100R is what impressed us the most.

The installation process of the tempered glass can be slightly risky because the glass has nothing to lock into, and you need to hold it by yourself unless you place two of the screws, or else it might fall and shatter.

As the name suggests, the Phanteks Eclipse P360A comes with an ultra-fine mesh panel that consists of fine 1mm holes that act as a dust filter and eliminates the need to get one. This is why we don’t find any dust filter underneath this front panel, but we do find two of the pre-installed 120mm addressable RGB fans. These fans, along with the fine mesh panel, provide excellent airflow regulation because this panel extends to both the sides of the front panel as well. Beneath the pre-installed fans, we get two of the tool-less hard drive cages. 

For the top portion, we get a unique layout for the I/O ports since the larger horizontal oval-shaped power button sits directly at the center. This button has RGB lighting that revolves around its edges, giving the case a minimalistic look when illuminated. On the far right side of the top panel, we get separate jacks for headphones and audio, followed by two USB 3.0 ports and two buttons to control the RGB. 

The Eclipse P360A is built for excellent airflow, and the support of the fans and water cooling option aid it. We have support for a 240mm or a 280mm radiator support in the front panel. The top portion can support up to two 140mm fans or a single 240mm radiator. You can easily install a single 120mm fan that can act as your exhaust fan for the backside.

The backside of the motherboard tray is decked out with essential items. For instance, the Phanteks Eclipse P360A Ultra Fine Performance Mesh arrives with velcro ties to tidy up the cable management, a pre-managed fan, and I/O port cables. There are also three spots dedicated to mounting your SSDs with two sleds present.

At the bottom, we get a PSU shroud that accommodates the hard drive cages and has enough space to fit a large power supply unit. Phanteks Eclipse P500A

The Phanteks Eclipse P500A is one of the best white cases since it is completely white, with its legs and side linings being black, which makes a great contrast. Phantek went above and beyond with the expandable drives, providing you with the ability to install up to 10 HDDs and 13 SSDs in this mid-tower case. In addition, heating is something that isn’t even considered in this case since it offers a 420 mm radiator support for the front panel. 

It doesn’t end here; Phanteks has added 140mm fan support at the back of their case. Not to mention, these are factors that are mostly found in full-tower cases. The two pre-installed fans include a 120mm fan mounted on the front panel and one installed at the back of the case. These fans are fairly quiet at full speed and can ramp up to 1300 RPM.

The top portion of the case is left empty except for a spot above the motherboard where a square-shaped mesh panel can be seen without a dust filter. The front panel can support two 120mm fans and one 240mm or 280mm radiator. You can install a 120mm or a 140mm fan on the top panel. You can easily mount a 120mm fan or a 120mm radiator for the backside. 

The NZXT H510 FLOW is no exception when it comes to minimalism. The case holds a square-shaped, minimalistic design that stands on top of an elevated base, which further enhances the appearance of the case. The tempered glass looks very impressive, especially when you choose to go with the white-colored case. The top portion has a square-shaped mesh panel with a faded pattern where the holes of the mesh panel get smaller on the edges, creating an impressive effect.

Known to keep everything in proportion, NZXT has done a great job with the layout of the I/O ports that has an ascending effect from left to right—starting from the audio/mic jack, then the USB Type-C port, followed by a USB 3.0 port and ending with the largest power button. This layout appears to be very clean and minimalistic, and it looks good as the top panel has a uniform color. 

NZXT provides a united front panel connector, which is rare to find in many cases. It also includes a splitter if it doesn’t fit in your motherboard. The mesh panel on the power supply shroud complements the front mesh panel of the case and allows you to install SSD caddies anywhere on the PSU shroud, with the option of rotation. In addition, there are two SSD caddies located at the back of the motherboard tray. The interior holds the NZXT’s iconic cable cover that stretches from the bottom of the case and extends upwards towards the top end of the case. 

The PSU shroud, which mounts the SSD, is a great way to accommodate and relocate SSDs with your preference. Not having RGB fans is a slight problem since the fans would look elegant when illuminated from underneath the front mesh panel. Mid Tower vs. Full Tower vs. Mini ITX
