On top of that, ARCTIC has designed the Liquid Freezer II with integrated cable management; the A-RGB and PWM cables are hidden; hence you only have to connect two plugs into the motherboard for Ryzen 7 5800x, making the whole setup easier and clean. ARCTIC also provides six years warranty with the 240mm AIO, so in case any problem occurs, you can get it replaced easily.
ARCTIC knows how to build amazing and powerful liquid coolers. The Liquid Freezer II has a TDP of 250W, which is more than enough to keep Ryzen 7 5800x’s temperature under control. If you are looking to overclock your CPU, the Liquid Freezer II can help you there too. With that much cooling potential, maintaining temperatures of an overclocked Ryzen 7 5800x will not be a problem for ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II. On top of that, Liquid Freezer II has a 38mm thick radiator compared to most manufacturers having much thinner radiators. The thick radiator means that the cooling surface has increased, and you can use large amounts of water to cool your processor.
What we liked
The Arctic Liquid Freezer II is an amazing cooler with an exciting and innovative pump design. The new pump design has resulted in increased performance and reduced noise levels. Unlike in many AIO liquid coolers, where a pump fan is just considered a gimmick, in Liquid Freezer II, it helps in the cooling process. EKWB (Edvard König Water Blocks) is a computer hardware company that has dominated the PC thermals industry in recent years with its range of premium water cooling gear. This time we will put EK-AIO 360 D-RGB under the microscope and explain exactly why it is amongst the Best CPU Cooler for Ryzen 7 5800x.
The EK-AIO 360 D-RGB is an all-in-one closed-loop liquid cooling solution for your CPU. EK-AIO comes pre-assembled, with a pre-filled pump-res combo design and a universally compatible water block ready to go out of the box, and allows for an easy and hassle-free installation.
While EK-AIO is overkill for many CPUs, it might be the perfect thing for your Ryzen 7 5800x. EK offers 120mm, 240mm, and 360mm variants for its EK-AIO D-RGB series, but we recommend the 360mm variant for the power-hungry Ryzen 7 5800x CPU. You will need all the cooling power you can get to stop your 5800x from overheating, and fortunately, EK-AIO 360 is more than capable of this task. With a TDP of up to 240W, the EK-AIO can not only keep the temperatures of 5800x under check at default clocks, but you can also use this majestic beast with an overclocked Ryzen 7 5800x. No matter how many loads you put onto your build, the EK-AIO will always have your back.
Moving on to the compatibility of EK-AIO, the EKWB has designed it to be compatible with not only AMD’s AM4 socket but you can also mount it onto a range of Intel’s LGA sockets, including LGA 1150, 1151, 1155, 1156, 1200, 2011, 2011-3, 2066, 1200. But, these are older sockets; it would have been nice if it was also compatible with newer Intel’s LGA 1700 and upcoming AMD’s AM5 socket to ensure future compatibility.
The EK-AIO 360 also comes with one of the best pumps in the market you can get your hands on, manufactured with high-quality and durable materials, black nickel housing, copper cold plate, and steel mounts. Moreover, the inclusion of 3x Vardar S 120ER fans makes it one hell of a deal. Furthermore, it comes pre-assembled and is one of the few AIOs in the market that is very easy to install.
What we disliked
Despite its premium quality and great performance, there are a few things that we feel can be improved in EK-AIO. It lacks software control which can be a major setback for many people and prevent them from buying it. To add that functionality, customers will have to spend an extra 60$, making this cooler very expensive. On top of that, the noise level of all the fans set at maximum RPM is very loud, and users must adjust the fan’s speed appropriately to minimize the noise. The base price of the EK-AIO 360 is currently $160, this may look somewhat more expensive than other 360mm radiators, but its performance justifies this price tag.
Benchmarks
If you are in the market looking for a high-performance premium 360mm AIO cooler, EK-AIO 360mm Liquid Cooler delivers extraordinary performance in many categories. We did not alter the EK Vardar S fans’ configuration in any way so that we can show you an out-of-the-box scenario for its performance results. The results we got from EK-AIO 360 were quite impressive.
The ambient temperature was 23°C. First, we tested the system at default clocks. The idle temperatures were about 36°C – 38°C. The temperature was recorded again after 100% sustained load for an hour at 54°C.
The Processor was then overclocked at 4.4GHz All-Core @1.25V, and temperatures were recorded while idle and after 100% sustained load for an hour. At idle, the temperature was found at about 30°C – 35°C, and at 100% sustained load, it rose to 57°C.
The CPU benchmarks were then again tested at 4.6Ghz All-Core OC @1.35V. The idle temperature recorded was 32°C-37°C. On applying 100% sustained load for about an hour, the temperature rose to a mere 63°C.
These numbers look ridiculous when we compare them to other AIOs in the market. The EK-AIO 360 cooler is among the best-performing coolers we have ever tested. The cooler design is also extremely efficient at dissipating heat and maintaining cooler temperatures.
What Sets the EK-AIO 360 D-RGB Apart from Its Competitors?
EK-AIO 360 excels at performance and aesthetics, but one thing that sets it apart from competitors and makes it stand out is the inclusion of 3x premium EK Vardar S 120ER D-RGB fans. Most companies just ship 3x 120mm fans with their 360mm coolers, but EK decided to include 3x 120mm fans allowing for a push/ pull configuration right out of the box.
Verdict
The EK AIO 360 is a premium cooler with excellent cooling capability and gorgeous aesthetics. The D-RGB fans make the whole deal a lot more attractive, and the icing on the cake is 3x such premium D-RGB fans included with the cooler, making it the Best 360mm Liquid Cooler For Ryzen 7 5800x.

Noctua’s coolers are a force to be reckoned with and an obvious choice for reviewers and customers. While selecting CPU Coolers for Ryzen 7 5800x, it wouldn’t be fair not to include Noctua NH-D15 chromax.Black, we saved the best for the last, and you won’t be disappointed by the features it holds.
The NH-D15 chromax.Black is an all-black version of the renowned award-winning NH-D15 flagship CPU cooler. It remains on the same path as the legendary NH-D14 and continues its quest for ultimate performance delivery. NH-D15 chromax.Black is coated in black from head to toe, making it perfect for black-theme lovers. It features a black heatsink, black fans fitted with black anti-vibration pads, black fan clips, and black mounting parts. The NH-D15 is an obvious fit for an all-black-themed build; on top of that, it is easy to integrate with any color scheme, as black is a universal color and goes great with everything. Noctua also provides heatsink covers for color customizability, so you can mix things up a little if you want.
Noctua NH-D15 features six heat pipes on a dual tower design. The dual-tower design rivals the performance of an AIO liquid cooler by providing a larger surface area and, thus, better-cooling potential. The base and heat pipes are also made of copper, allowing better heat conductivity. The cooling fins are constructed with aluminum to reduce weight and provide durability. Moreover, the cooling fins are spread across 150mm, and its heat pipes are spaced wide apart to allow more uniform heat distribution over a larger surface area. The design and material choice of Noctua for the heat pipes and heatsinks of NH-D15 have made it capable of providing better heat distribution and superior efficiency in dual fan mode.
Noctua features dual fans with the NH-D15, and the fans that Noctua has combined with the NH-D15 are its premium and top-class NF-A15. The NF-A15 fans feature a top speed of 1500 RPM, which is not the highest in this list, but the greater 140mm area provides much better airflow and reduces noise levels. Noctua also includes 2x low-noise adapters for both fans to reduce the noise even further. With the low-noise adapter, you can crack the fans at 1200 RPM, which is ideal for medium workloads. On top of that, these fans support PWM, and you can easily configure their speed according to the situation.
The NH-D15 will never be a concern, as it is compatible with all past and future sockets. Noctua’s Secufirm 2 multi-socket mounting system supports a wide range of CPUs, including Intel’s LGA1700, LGA1200, LGA1156, LGA1155, LGA1151, LGA1150, LGA2066, LGA2011-0, LGA2011-3 (Square ILM) & AMD’s AM4, AM5. The AM4 socket is the most important on this list as it is utilized by the Ryzen 7 5800x. Noctua also provides six years manufacturer’s warranty with the cooler, so if any problem occurs down the road, you can easily replace it.

What we liked
The Noctua NH-D15 is jam-packed with many great and exciting features that make us want to buy it immediately. From the widened dual heatsinks to 3x heat pipes, making it is capable of cooling any overpowered CPU in the market and more than enough for our beloved Ryzen 7 5800x. On top of that, the dual fan configuration on a dual tower design is like icing on the cake, making the NH-D15 an optimal rival for the Recommended Ryzen 7 5800x CPU Coolers.
What we disliked
A lot is going on for Noctua NH-D15, we thoroughly examined this gargantuan cooler, but fortunately, we couldn’t find any technical flaws that would compromise its integrity. The only thing we would like to mention is that the NH-D15 is a little hard on the pocket for an air cooler, but considering the performance and features it delivers, NH-D15 justifies its price. Moreover, considering the height of the CPU, you might want to check your case’s CPU clearance before opting for NH-D15, making it an ideal Ryzen 7 5800x Cooler.
What Sets the Noctua NH-D15 chromax.Black Apart from Its Competitors?
The NH-D15 is a renowned award-winning cooler that hundreds of international websites and reviewers have recognized for its ultra-performance. The 220W TDP is exceptional for an air cooler, but Noctua NH-D15 easily achieves that. It also features some of the best mounting hardware for coolers, ultimately making the installation process much smoother.
Benchmarks
First up are the stock clock temperatures. The NH-D15 maintains a close delta of 4°C to 6°C over the 3 preset fan curves while idle. Under load, the temperatures go up by 20°C at low RPM and a mere 16°C for the max RPM. We should mention that the fans are barely audible at idle and only a really sharp ear would be able to pick up its sound, which makes these NF-A15 fans a superb option for silence-oriented builds.
Moving onto overclocked temperatures, the idle temperatures remain the same as above. The silent fan curve has the very best delta at idle of 10°C resulting in 35°C, which are more than acceptable temperatures.
Under load, while being overclocked, the difference remains very tight with a spread of 3°C between the fan curves. The best temperatures are attained on the silent profile with a delta of 27°C, getting a max temperature of 52°C. You’ve got a lot of headroom to overclock with the amount of thermal dissipation you’re getting with the D15, and even more so if you optimize your fan curves and the airflow in your case.
So far the NH-D15 has shown very impressive performance for an air cooler and truly rises up to the level of AIO liquid coolers. You cannot go wrong with a brand like Noctua; if your PC case has enough clearance for the dual tower CPU cooler, you can go for NH-D15 without any hesitation.
Verdict
At this point, it is difficult not to tell you to buy the amazing NH-D15 right away. It exceeds the performance of many air coolers by a great margin, it has great aesthetics for an air cooler, and its all-black body looks stunning. We can confidently recommend NH-D15 to anyone looking to buy a CPU for a powerful and heat-magnet CPU like Ryzen 7 5800x, as this is the Best Overall CPU Cooler For Ryzen 7 5800x In 2023.

How We Chose These CPU Coolers
Picking the Best CPU Cooler for Ryzen 7 5800x is not easy, as there are many options in the market, each with its pros and cons. Our priority is to put our readers on the optimal path by recommending some of the best items to date; the same is true for CPU coolers. For this purpose, we have developed a criterion that every cooler must fulfill to be on this list. Following are the main factors that we considered while selecting each product.
Socket
AMD doesn’t include a free CPU cooler with Ryzen 7 5800x, so you must buy a separate CPU cooler. But not all the coolers are compatible with Ryzen 7 5800x, as they have different mounting methods. The 5800X uses an AM4 socket type with a 4-pin connector, so every cooler in this list supports AM4 sockets to mount on 5800x, as incompatible mounts can cause overheating.
Price
Price plays an important role when buying anything, including the CPU Coolers for Ryzen 5800x, as everybody cannot afford expensive CPU coolers. To make this list viable for everyone, we have included CPU coolers from premium to budget, the best in each category, so all our readers can benefit from our recommendations.
Size
The CPU size may not seem such a big factor at first glance, but it is crucial to the cause. We have to consider the RAM and PCIe clearances that your case offers. We don’t want a case that would eat up GPU space and ruin the case ambiance. Moreover, AIO coolers must also accommodate radiators and coolers alongside the radiator sizes, which must be considered when buying one. For your ease, we have included the coolers with the fitting capability for vast PC cases in the consumer market.
Noise
Noise is one of the most important factors when looking for a CPU cooler. Nobody wants a loud cooler that can damage your ears and constantly irritate you while using your PC. We carefully looked at the noise levels of the coolers mentioned above, and it is safe to say that you won’t be bothered much by the noise of these coolers. However, if you want a completely quiet environment, we recommend you go with an AIO cooler, as they will efficiently cool your Ryzen 7 5800x while producing as low noise as possible.
TDP
A cooler’s ability to efficiently cool a processor is reflected by its TDP(Thermal Design Power). A powerful cooler with a good TDP can properly cool down the mighty Ryzen 7 5800x. The general rule of thumb is getting a cooler with the same or higher TDP than the processor. Ryzen 7 5800x has a TDP of 105W, so you would want to look for a cooler with a TDP of 105W or higher.
Aesthetics and Build Quality
Finally, aesthetics and build quality also play an important role when selecting a cooler, especially if you are building a PC having tempered glass panels. A cooler with integrated RGB lighting has an edge here. Moreover, strong and sturdy build quality is also very important, as it signifies how much time and thought the brand has put in while designing the cooler.
Ryzen 7 5800X Cooler Compatibility
Ryzen 7 5800x is compatible with air coolers and closed-loop AIO liquid coolers or custom/ open-loops cooling setups. However, remember that 5800x uses an AM4 socket, a standard type by AMD, which Ryzen 3 and Ryzen 5 series also used, so ensure that your cooler is compatible with the AM4 socket. However, if you go with our recommendations mentioned above, you won’t have to worry about that, as all the coolers listed above are compatible with Ryzen 7 5800x.
